Sisterhood Scholarship

The 3rd Step Sisterhood Scholarship was established to support women in recovery who continue on their life journey to recovery from addiction and endeavoring to pursue re-entry into the workforce through job training or higher education. This award is consistent with 3rd Step Ministry’s goal to support women on their restorative path for themselves, their family, and their community.

Award

3rd Step Ministry will award up to $1,000 for tuition, textbooks, and training materials or technology. Awards will be considered twice a year.

Eligibility

You are eligible to apply for the 3rd Step Sisterhood Scholarship if you are a woman who:

 

  • Is in recovery from drug or alcohol addiction

  • Is sober for a minimum of one year

  • Successfully completed an inpatient or outpatient recovery program, verification by letter of recommendation by Program Director/Case Manager

  • Attended a 3rd Step Event or Support Groups (preferable but not required)

  • Is actively working with a recovery program or church sponsor. Letter of recommendation and contact information is required

  • Is actively working on a case plan/step work with case manager or mentor

  • Enrolled in education or job training program

  • Is actively giving back to the community or peer support

Apply

Applications will be due on June 30th and December 31st. In order to be considered by the scholarship committee, all requirements of the scholarship application must be received by the established deadline by 11:59 pm PST. Successful applicants will be notified 30 days after the deadline. If able, recipients may be photographed or video recorded receiving award. 

Be sure to gather your answers to the application questions and your letter of recommendation before filling out the online application.
